Style with a Budget-August

Style updated

Hello everyone! This post is super late compared to normal as it’s been a little busy but better late than never 🙂 I had been stalking the leather silver mules and finally pulled the trigger when they went on super clearance-only $15. Brouhaha!! I have been on the hunt for investment skinny jeans that fit super well. Honestly I was beginning to think ones didn’t exist until I popped into Madewell. The SA there was super sweet and I literally tried on 12 pairs of jeans. Normally I “think” I wear size 29, but then the SA told me let’s try 28. I was getting worried that this would not be good. LOL. Then she said let’s try 27- I about died in the fitting room as there was NO WAY I could wear at 27. Oh dear, let’s give it a shot….sure enough the clouds parted and the heavens shined down upon me in the Madewell fitting room!! Hallelujah!

I thought the fit was perfect and ordered the petite size 27 online and they are AMAZING!!! I also bought this fringe necklace on sale as I have been loving the matte gold jewelry in store. Did you know Madewell will give you $20 off any pair of jeans when you bring in an old one? So I brought an old boot leg pair back to the store. This is where my loyalty ran DEEP for Madewell. Here’s how the story goes:

Bring old jeans to the counter to get $20 refund off my jeans I paid retail for.
SA says oh you know we are having a sale this weekend for 15% off everything. Let me adjust your prices on the jeans and necklace. Oh wow! Thanks!
SA says are you going to buy that shirt? I say I love it but it’s pretty pricey at $70.
SA says your necklace is now on sale for $5.99 and with everything said and done you own us $.99 for the shirt.
WTH??? YASSS!

End of Story 🙂

I had been stalking this Chanel PST in Beige Clair for awhile and when I saw it in the final clearance bin, I said if it goes below $—, I will get it. When I saw that price which is well below going rate for the bag, my heart pounded and hit that buy button asap. I KNOW! I am SO over my lux bag budget this year!! SO on BAN ISLAND ya’ll for next year!! LOL!

Thoughts on what I bought:

Madewell 10″ Highrise Jeans 27 Petite–$103: These investment jeans are a DREAM! Especially for petite ladies who need short inseams. Go 2 sizes down. You’ll thank me later!
Madewell Central Shirt –Small– $.99: See the story above 🙂 I have worn this shirt sooo many times, my hubby is wondering if I own anything else-haha! I NEED the white one!
Zara Silver Mules-6.5 (similar)–$15: Super steal-literally last one online. These are real leather but as a review, the length of the toe cover is super short that I feel that I am trying to keep them on as I walk and they slip. Another is the edge of the cover rubs up against the top of my foot. Hopefully they break in a little more so I am wondering if my “steal” is really a steal :/
Madewell Fringe Necklace- $6 Love the adjustable length, matte gold finish, and my kids like to ask why I am wearing a paintbrush. LOL!!
Skechers Burst Sneakers (similar)–$35 Ooops, I forgot about these I bought on a whim at TJ Maxx!! I needed some new walking shoes and came across these with no laces. I tried them on amd it was like walking on the clouds. Wow! I am sold on Skechers!
